Hello Trina, Many times I have walked along Spendelove Avenue ub Southport, Queensland.
The Spendelove Cafe in Southport has, printed on the back of their menu a history of the family.

" Benjamin and Ann Spendelove immigrated to Australia in 1886, on a steamer from England. They settled on the land which is now TSS school. Their property, 8 acres, ran from the Gold Coast Hospital to Chevron Island.
They had 10 children in all. Three of the brothers, William, George and Eddie Spendelove, started and owned the original brickworks until the 1950s when it became Southport Bricks.
Spendelove bricks were known for their quality throughout Queensland.
Georges youngest daughter Estha Spendelove is now 84, still lives on the Gold Coast and visits us from time to time. Estha was asked to officially open the new Ferry Rd. Markets on 7 December 2006."
