Believe my John might have been the one who served as a scout,agent,hunter for the early Forts being built on the Frontiers of Va., pa., Ky., Carolinas,and settled in Tennessee.Believe that the Edwaed SHARP shown in Forts inf. might have been his Father,or possibly his son. But I believe his father as an Edward d.in N.Carolina in the late 1700s.
Am wondering if others have thought that John's first wife might have been Catherine McClure,dauh.of Halbert McClure who died in home massacre on the mouth of Moccossin creek. Catherine, did recover but I have read somewhere that everyone knew that she wasn't quite right in the head.I, believe she and John were already married at the time of the massacre and she was staying with her family while John was gone.If this is correct they moved to Ky. and ran a "ferry" and sort of a "way-station" or Inn by the ferry on what river?
Children were;William,Nehemiah,Edward (my line),Samuel,Joshua,John Jr.,James,Margaret,and maybe an Adam.
Joshua, went to Bond, Illinois.
The others moved with John and Catherine,am not shure wher she died,but might have in Kentucky or a Carolina,but proably Ky.
Later John m. Elinor MAYFIELD daug. of James
John dies either in Union or Sullivan County Tenn. while living with a son.
Elinor moves with a son to another state.
Have found a little early inf. fromPenn., that I believe is this first John Sharp b. 1750/53.
