june marie was born in,loxton south aus 1st june ,1939 family moved to mildura ,i was two. we 4 only at this stage two older sisters born ,1st then brother Bill born 7th ,april,1937 ,in western australia, then myself next we took our furniture on a truck ,we all huddled together with the white snowy cat which jumped off + ran into the bushes ,never to be seen again,we all 4 in the furniture. mum + dad in the front ,dad the driver , i was later added to the cabin because of truck sickness, which seemed to happen when travelling,by verhicles.until about 6 years old.at 5 years old I contracted pnumonia, an ambulance, took me to mildura base hospital. at 6 yrs old i caught scarlet fever, our street was closed ,until all clear was given. my new baby sister was born, 8 years old ,I injured my ankle, swinging on a merry go round. The head master caried me to his office ,he called my dad donald to take me to the doctors. xray was not invented yet, doctor ceilly ,said bad sprain, to week no walking . Dad carried me when going to bed or to the loo, also i had tonsils removed later, after having to wait,a year as they didnot remove them straight, away in the older days. at 10 years old we moved to nsw aus, near the beach,by this time ,our baby brother number 6 was born in mildura ,he was about one year old, he travelled on the truck, with furniture again, very excitng, the adventure all 5 counting the stars , or in daylight ,bill + myself road between the car + mudgaurds, clinging on to the head lights . great for young ,kids,to enjoy not scared at that age | we arrived at dads brother gifford carter home to eat a stew made special by aunty jean ,for us.lovely surprise . I then start dee why public ,then age 12 started ,high school , in manly until 15 when i went to work at coles in manly then campbells hardware store. then started waitresing in the people palace mainly ,which was run by the salvation army. This was a wonderful exsperiance. next to make mens trousers,at balgowlah ,marco productions, 22 years old ,start working in ferris bros brookvale . where i met my future husband ,making tv radios ,moisture meters, golf buggies .TV anteners. until age 24 we married in manly, went to lord howe island 2 weeks by sea plane. wonderful. later 6 months saw me in hospital in manly with kidney disease, for 3 weeks ,also having appendix removed , 6 months ,later our eldest daughter is concieved. 3 years later our 2nd daughter arrived. this was decided to be a large enough family for us to afford on very low wages when buying our leslie home, after removing the rocks ,+ clearing it to level, ready to be built.in 1966 just finished after our father died at age 58 ,to young to die. not seeing our finished home.It was a beautiful home . we stayed there 6 years . sold this house to build our own at monavale, it was done beautifully by my husband john. only to not finish it because of our nice neighbors , we moved into a hooker home , ready built. it was still a lovely home. but twelve years later i became so ill with C F S + put on a pension ,so we moved to our presant home we had acquired earlier ,in 1971 ,this is still our home to this day near bathurst.
