Ellen Oatway, who is she and where did she come from?

Question by atticus7

I am looking into Ellen Oatway, she is the wife of John Torr Holdsworth married 1863 in Auckland [marriage licence says Olway], had a son David Edward Torr Holdsworth 1864 [ registered as Helen]. No record of her before then, cant find proof she was born in NZ or came over on a ship. There are quite a few Ellen Oatways in England who are about the right age but no evidence any of them came to NZ. She also disappears again in Australia and I'm chasing that angle up too. Any help appreciated. thank you.

In Papers Past I found the following story; I don't have time to correct the text now but you may view the image. It does give a little bit of information. She appears to be separated from her husband and mentions her 'little boy' in England
