Do you have any further information on William that would help in the search for him - parents names, siblings, who was the informant on the death certificate.

There are a few William Marshall's born Lincolnshire between 1894 & 1897 on the 1901 Census, but I couldn't find one born Boston Lincolnshire do you have any further details from the census you found.

Thanks for asking
1901 living at 32 Clarence Road Walthamstow Essex says he his married (which he is not) Annie Emily Walden 1875-1917 she was already married to a Francis Tallent and they did not marry until after his death in 1914. In 1901 they only had the one child Harry Marshall. Their marriage certificate of 1914 says they were both widows and his father is named as Thomas

There are a couple of William Marshalls born between 1865 & 1869 in Boston Lincolnshire you would need to purchase the certificates to verify but that could be costly if your not sure where he was born.

There is a tree on ancestry with William Marshall and Annie Emily Tallent who have quite a few children before they were actually married and possibly two more after they married.

Annie & Francis Tallent had two children 1) Annie Emily b1896 bap 4 Oct 1896 Stanwell Middlesex and 2) Francis George b1898 bap 26 Nov 1898 Stanwell.

In the 1901 young Annie & Francis are living with a relative Alice Matthews 40 and her 4 sons at 48 Sydney Terrace Feltham Berkshire and Francis senior is living with the Cole family in Stanwell.

I wonder why Annie left Francis with the two small children to live with William Marshall, perhaps it was an arranged marriage.

There is a William Marshall of Lincoln in the 1891 with Grandparents and in 1881 with father and his other Grandparents the Harveys might be worth a look.
