My mom was a Lautenberger born in New Jersey in 1920. Her dad was born in the city of Brooklyn abt 1889. His dad was born in Manhattan in 1861. His dad was born in Hesse Darmstadt abt 1828, and emigrated to New York in the mid 1850s.

I have noticed large numbers of Lautenbergers from the Baltimore, Maryland region, who also have ancestors from the Hesse Darmstadt region. So, I am interested to learn if there is a link
between these two Lautenberger families.
