Who am I and Who I am Researching?

I am Mary Gotts Drye. I have been doing genealogy for about 20 years. I find it very fulfilling especially when I come across some of my distant relatives. It seems as I get older that these friends get fewer and fewer.
I'm hoping that this blog (which I have never done before) will solve that problem.
The main surnames I am researching are: DRYE, GOTTS, BOWER, SIDDALL AND OTIS.
The ones that I have the most research on are GOTTS AND BOWER. I seem to have hit a brick wall as far as the BOWERS are concerned.
Here is the information that I have on the BOWER family:
Gertrude Mary Bower(my grandmother)b. 10 Sept. 1889 in Wyandotte, Wayne Co., Michigan; m. 11 Nov. 1909 to Carl Benjamin Gotts; d. 7 Feb 1975 in Largo, Pinellas Co., Florida.
Livingston Bower(her father my great grandfather) b. 10 Mar. 1834; m. Margaret(Mary) Nicholson b. 20 Apr. 1877 in Scotland(?) They had 9 children.
John Bower(My great, great grandfather)b.abt. 1789 in New York, USA(?) m. Sophia Sales b. 1790 in Hoosick, Rensselaer, New York. They had 2 or 3 children.
