Eliza Gregg was born in 1880
- a daughter of Richard GREGG (1854-1913) of Ballynascadden, County Donegal, Ireland & Caroline FLETCHER (1856-1929)
- her father Richard Gregg, at the age of seventeen, went to the United States where he was employed by his uncle, Mr Daniel Gregg, owner of one of the richest oil producing farms in Oil Creek, Pa.
He joined the United States army in 1872 and served for a term of five years under the American flag being in several engagements with the Indians in Wyoming, Montana, and Dakota territories, notably in 1876 under General George Crook in the war with the Sioux tribes under their famous war chief Sitting Bull
Richard returned to Ireland in 1877
He married Caroline Fletcher (eldest daughter of Mr. John Fletcher, of Manor Cunningham, County Donegal, Ireland) on the 1st May 1878 then 19 days later, on the 20th May, they sailed from Belfast on the Lady Jocelyn arriving in Auckland in August. They immediately moved down to Christchurch where they stayed for 7 years then moved up to Pahiatua and settled on their holding of 540 acres at Makakahi.
- They are both buried in the Settlers Cemetery Dannevirke

- she was a pupil-teacher at the Makakahi School
- she married James Patrick BEECH (1863-1974) in 1903
- they lived in konini, Pahiatua
- Annie died aged 29 and is buried in Mangatainoka

1880 Eliza Margaret Gregg
- Eliza married Lionel William Hubert VICARY in 1905
- Lionel & Eliza had:

- Clarice died in 1991 aged 98

1881 Robert Fletcher Gregg
- Robert married Mary Eliza (1883-1952) JENNINGS in 1910
- Mary was a daughter (and one of 8 children) of Edward JENNINGS & Mary HINDMAN
- Robert died in 1943 aged 62
- he had been living in Tiratu, Dannevirke
- he is buried in the WWI Section at Mangatera Cemetery
- he served with the NZ Rifle Brigade, Reinforcements H Company as Rifleman 36969. His wife Mary was in Te Aroha when he embarked from Wellington on 19 January 1917

1883-1900 John Hayes Gregg
- John died in 1900 aged 17
- he had been living in Konini, Pahiatua
- he was killed at the Ngapaeruru block on 27th August while out bush-felling and a dead branch of a tree fell on his head
