would love to know what you have found.... I believe that my William Downey came from Kilkenny. It seems that he came to America soon after his birth with parents, believed to be Michael Downey and Mary Mason, his mother. I have nothing to back this up other than what others have told me. This William absolutely did live and die in Marshall County, IN, did farming and raised his family there. I descend through his daughter Sarah C. Downey, my g-g-grandmother. Without verifying William prior to 1838 (when he sold land in OH and moved to IN), I am unable to prove anything else thus far. Any light you can shed on this man or his family will be of great interest and immense help to me. Thank you for your response to my poist. Please get in touch with me again.

If we have the same family...Anastasia Downey/Doheny was married to Martin Farrell in my line, William may be a brother etc, I am stuck there ATM. I am from their daughter Bridget who married Patrick Lannan also Swiftsheath. Patrick and Bridget came to Australia around the time of the Potato Famine. There are several of us working on the Farrell connection.
