Bio

I am born and bred in Northumberland, and have been researching my family history for several years. Ancestors originate from Prussia, Scotland, Yorkshire, and Northumberland. My "brick walls" are Margaret Chrisp born 1844 in Dudley, Northumberland, and Jonah Shepherd born in Sessay, Yorkshire. I know Margaret married my Great Grandfather George Tait, but as her father was deceased at the time of marriage, and there's no trace on the 1881 census for her, I'm stuck on her earlier history. Jonah Shepherd somehow ended up in Prussia in 1856 as a plate layer (laying railroad tracks) and thats where his son Christopher Shepherd was born, (registered at Cologne embassy) but I would dearly love more info on Jonah, such as how did he end in Meiderich, and more importantly how he and Christopher returned home. Both died in Dudley, Northumberland.
