My name's Matiu from Jane & Punto Marsh. The eldest of 4 children, x1 other male and X2 female. I've been researching whakapapa for more than 30 years but for many years before that my elders, parents and relatives alike had been feeding their knowledge to me almost as soon as I could walk.
It's continuing to be great and wonderful journey I love absorb and share.
The many names included amongst my discoveries are Marsh-Wetini, Hura-Ihaka, Maihi, Rudolph-Waipouri, Pukeroa, Hunia, Matiu, Pene, Hohua, Biddle, Rangiaho, Cochrane, the list is extensive.
I'm not shy to admit History, Genealogy, Archeology are passions. Probably why I'm seen as an old peculiar bore amongst the whanau, we'll kia-ora to you too ☺.
