Missouri Ann LINNEY or LINNY ROOKS was born about December 1825 in Missouri and died September 29, 1900 in Taney County, Missouri. Her maiden name was Linney or Linny and, after extensive research, I still have not discovered the name of her parents or siblings. There were several Linney families in Missouri during that time; however, I have not yet been able to actually connect any of them to Missouri Ann. The most probable connection would be to Thomas, George, or William Linney, either as brothers or cousins; however, it appears they came from Kentucky.
Samuel Rooks and Missouri Ann Linney married on December 18, 1846. It appears this was Missouri Ann?s first marriage since I have not found evidence of any previous unions. She was about 21 years old and Sam about 30 years old. They were married about 3 months after Samuel Rooks' first wife, Elizabeth, died, and in the next 20 years, they had 6 children and made their home on a farm in Grundy County, Missouri. They had the following children:

Samuel Rooks first wife, Elizabeth Holloway, died on September 30, 1846. She was only about 26 yrs old and died about 3 yrs after giving birth to her last child, a girl name Sarah. She and Sam had a total of 4 children together:

I'm trying to find out who Missouri Ann LINNEY'S parents were.
Any information would be appreciated.

Cassie Cranford Cox, my G Grandmother, was born about 1871; however I haven?t been able to actually verify the state where she was born or who her parents were. A couple of sources suggest she may have been born in Texas; however, she lived in Arkansas and Oklahoma.
She is first on record in the county of Hempstead, Arkansas when she married George Washington Cox on December 12, 1890.
The only family members I've found in old papers were brothers; Clyde, Chester, Albert, and Lee. I have no idea who her parents were.

She died sometime just prior to 1900 because her husband is listed on the 1900 census in Saratoga, Arkansas as widowed.

I would love to hear from anyone who has knowledge of her family.
