Still looking for information re Smith and Catherine Bennit/ett (nee McFarlane) who resided in the St Leonard's, Lane Cove & Nth Willoughby area of Sydney NSW ca1860+.
Smith had the following occupations - Shoe maker, Contractor (ie clearing Burns Bay Rd 1874), Toll Collector Lane Cove Rd 1876, Fencer, Caretaker of the Atarmon Estate 1880.
Associated family names include - Mary Gash, Augustus Hanson, Andrew Sylvester Hanson, Owen Patrick McMahon, Margaret Morrison, Charles Norris and Alfred Emanuel Stephens.

Looking for Henry Clay Bennit/Bennett of Australia

seeking information re Henry Clay Bennit/Bennett, born 1874 at St Leonards (Sydney) NSW Australia. Son of Smith Bennit/Bennett and Catherine McFarlane/McFarland.
Henry was a 40 year old bachelor living in the Wollongong area of NSW when he applied to enlist in the Australian Imperial Forces during WW1.
Would appreciate details of Henry and/or his descendants.

William Smith Bennit of Kalgoorlie WA

Seeking contact from the descendants of William/Bill Bennit b.1865 St Leonards NSW to Samuel Smith Bennit and Catherine McFarland/McFarlane. Bill married Elizabeth (Bessie) Stewart and relocated to the East Coolgardie area(now Kalgoorlie)of Western Australia ca.late 1880s, becoming the Publican of the Sun Rise Hotel and the Inland City Hotel. A son named Leslie George Bennit took over as licensee of the Inland City Hotel in East Coolgardie in the 1930s. Bill d.1940, Bessie d.1947. Bill was also known as 'Bull Bennit', a name which may have come from his boxing days as a young man.
Bill had two siblings who also relocated to WA. His brother Andrew Jackson Bennit d.1903, a sister named Kate Elizabeth (Mrs Norris)aka Florence and Catherine d.1905.
Other siblings were Henry Clay - Stephen Nostrand - Eliza Mary (Mrs Hanson)- Clara (Mrs Stevens)and Rachel Martha (Mrs Hanson/McMahon). Most of these siblings remained in Sydney NSW.

Looking for Charles NORRIS

Can anyone help with information re - Charles Norris born Ipswich Qld ca 1871. He and his mother Annie Norris moved to the St Leonards area of Sydney 1870s where Charles met Kate Elizabeth Bennit/Bennett, daughter of Smith and Catherine Bennit nee McFarland. Charles and Kate married 1884. Charles was a bricklayer by trade and employed by the Gov Railways mid/late 1890s to build train tunnels in Western Autralia. Kate's love of attending Dance Halls in Perth saw the marriage flounder. Kate remained in remained in WA while Charles returned to Sydney. He divorced Kate in 1903 and had custody of their only surviving child who passed away that same year in Perth. Kate d. 1905 in Perth, Charles d.1938 Manly NSW and was buried same plot as Mary Bennett (wife of Stephen Bennit/Bennett, sister-in-law of Kate Norris nee Bennit)

Seeking information on Samuel Smith Bennit/Bennett, born ca 1827 New York USA. Died 26 Dec 1881 at North Willoughby, Sydney NSW. Used Smith as first name, married Catherine McFarland/McFarlane at Willoughby (Nth Sydney) NSW 1861. Samuel Smith Bennit parents named on his marriage certificate as William Bennit and Maria Nostrand.
All children of Smith and Kate born St Leonards/Lane Cove (Nth Sydney)- (1)Stephen Nostrand (m.Mary Ann Gash), (2)William Smith (m.Elizabeth Sage Stewart), (3)Kate Elizabeth (m.Charles Norris), (4)Andrew Jackson (bachelor), (5)Thomas McFarlane (m.Margaret Morrison), (6)Henry Clay (bachelor), (7)Eliza Mary (m.Augustus Hanson), (8)Clara (m.Alfred Stephen), (9)Rachel Martha(m.Andrew Hanson).

looking for BARRY FAMILY of Binalong

Catherine/Kate Barry, born 4 May 1847 to Darby/Jeremiah Barry and Honora Hannan at Binalong NSW.
Kate died 13 Oct 1892 at Meeham St,Yass NSW. buried R/C Cemetery Yass. No children listed on her death certificate; however when her spouse John Griffiths died, his certificate named six issue (1) Norah Therese (born Yass? died 1965 Kurrajong NSW, m1.George Sunderland - m2.Reginald Innes) (2)Ellen (3)Mary (4)Thomas (5)William and (6)Julia.
Spouse John Griffiths born 1834 Kurrajong NSW. son of Michael and Ellen Griffin/Griffiths Died 30 Jun 1904 Tumut Cottage Hospital NSW.
