I am looking for info on Willis W. Nichols (b1849 in PA). He married Victoria Gay (b1860) and they had 2 children that I know of: Silas B. Nichols (b. 1879, NY) and Bertha V. Nichols (b.1883, MI). I know that they lived in Cayuga Co, NY, for a few years, and then moved to Mason, MI, for a time.
I was told that Willis Nichols was a Baptist minister and that he was killed by a train. I would love to confirm this somehow. My family also believes that he may have had twin sons born by his first wife. However, I DO know that he remarried after Victoria's death sometime before 1899. His second wife was Ida Nichols and they had one son (Louis V. Nichols, b. 1899) listed in the 1900 census in Fulton, Arkansas. His daughter Bertha lived with family in Michigan, and then settled in Cayuga Co, NY, with her husband Emmett Baker.

My great-grandfather was Leslie Marks Robinson (1891-1976), he married Mary Ann Wickson (1884-1949), and they lived on "Five Corners" in Essex Junction, Vermont. The Chittenden Bank was once the site of their 3 story home which they made into a gas station. Les Robinson started "Robinson Oil" and owned a great deal of land in Essex. I have been told that Les and Mary were very generous during the Depression, welcoming boarders into their home, and giving gasoline on credit or trade. I would love to learn more about Les Robinson, and his family. Here is the ancestry that I've learned thus far:

Les' parents were David Marks Robinson (b1854) and Eva A Woods (1861-1914). David was born in Westford, VT, and was a butter maker in in Grand Isle or North Hero for a time before moving his family to a farm in Essex Junction. I was told that he was given a watch for being the "best butter maker in Vermont" around 1900.

David's parents were Stephen Pearl Robinson 1818-1892, and Catherine Bates 1818-1895. Stephen Pearl and his wife had several children, and he fought in the Civil War alongside an older son and a future son-in-law.

Stephen Pearl's parents were Levi Robinson (1770-1825) and Elizabeth "Betsey" Nye (1772-1847). This couple was born in Worcester, MA, but are buried with many of their descendants in the Osgood Hill Cemetary, in Westford, VT, right on the front row.
