Campbell Alexander was born 17 July 1869 in Galston, Ayrshire, Scotland to David Alexander and Sarah Hamilton Alexander. The 1900 Census for Cardiff, Jefferson County, AL shows Campbell with his wife, Agnes and three children (David, Archie, Mary Elizabeth). Agnes is found in the 1910 census living in Rock Springs, Sweetwater County, WY and married to a man named John Smith.

There is no verifiable record of Campbell after 1900. Much is known of his parents (both died in Jefferson County, AL)and his siblings. But none of the records of the siblings decendants show any information on Campbell after 1900.

The best record found (BUT NOT verified)is of a Campbell H. Alexander who died in Decatur, IL in 1911. That man was married to a Vonda or Vonnie Lanora Morris Enlow according to the newspaper report of the death of both Campbell and Vonnie. The age given for Campbell was 40 or 41 (actual age would have been 42 in Sept 1911; date of the newspaper article.)

The 1910 Census show that Vonnie had been married to Chas H. Alexander for 10 years; and reflects the same daughter as found in the 1911 newspaper article. However problems with the census include the name given (Chas H. vs Campbell) and that the 1900 Census for Urbana, IL shows that Vonnie was married to and living with William Enlow. Marriage records for Vonnie and William Enlow confrim that they were married in 1899 in Douglas County, IL.

Information on the possible marriage date (and to whom) is vital to helping confirm or eliminate this possible indiviual as the Campbell Alexander sought.
