Meaning of the surname CHRISP

CHRISP - The English surname Chrisp is of nickname origin, deriving from a personal characteristic of one particular individual, thus affording him a suitable means on identity in his local community. In this instance we have a variant form of the name Crisp, from the Old English ?Crisp, or Cryps?, and in the Latin ?Crispus?, meaning ?curly haired, or curled?.

CHAPPLE & PARR - ENGLAND

I am researching Thomas Chapple born in 1849 in Farnham Green, Essex, England. His father was also Thomas Chapple.
Thomas married Sussanah Alice Parr, who was born in 1840 in Gedney, Licolnshire, England. Sussanah was the middle daughter of Richard and Ann Parr.
Thomas and Sussanah were not married until after their first two childrenwere born, and so these children were given a double name. Their children were and John Neel Parr-Chapple born in 1862, Alice Parr-Chapple born in 1866 and Charles Henry Chapple born in 1871.
Alice went on to marry Walter Allen Reams and had three children.
I would like to find out more about these Parr and Chapple families, so please get in touch with me.

Hemphill, James & Russell, Mary ? Co. Tyrone, Ireland

Hemphill, James & Russell, Mary ? Co. Tyrone, Ireland
I am looking for any information about James Hemphill & Mary Russell who married in Co. Tyrone, Ireland. They had at least three sons, Robert Hemphill born in 1833, James Hemphill born 1835 & Johnston Hemphill born in 1836. All three boys left Ireland for Australia, but the parents remained behind. It is thought there were other children of James & Mary as well.
The sons Robert & James were both married in Ireland in the parish of Termonamongon, whilst Robert was said in his memoirs to have come from Castlederg.
Please contact me if you have any knowledge of this family, thank you.
Cindy.

IRENE HUMPHREYS (nee Robinson) formerly of Blackpool, Lancashire, England

Family are urgently looking for descendants of Irene Robinson. She was born in Blackpool and married prior to 1933 to become Irene Humphreys, then I believe she married again in about 1938 to a man unknown. Irene then died in Blackpool in the early 1960's, I believe she had at least two sons in her marriage, and I need to contact anybody from that family.

ANCESTRY.COM FREE TRIAL MEMBERSHIP

FREE TRIAL MEMBERSHIP ON THE NET
For all of you who have wondered about whether a ?Free Trial Membership? at some of these family history web sites is just that, FREE? Well I recently tried Ancestry.com with their free trial for 14 days. There are two methods in which to cancel your membership, but only one in which you can join. You must use a credit card to access the trial. A trial membership will only give you access to the area in which you are registering, that is to say the ?England and Ireland Collection? or the ?Historical Newspapers?, or the ?American Collection? etc. However, I believe that you can FREE Trial all of these areas individually. So, you could register for 14 days with England and Ireland, and then another 14 days with the American Collection etc. However, the catch (and there always seems to be one) is that if you choose to cancel your membership by email, it can take up to 10 days for this to be registered. So there is the chance that you will be charged the full membership fee for that one area (US$99.00 per annum - about AUS$140.00), they will however refund this once they receive your cancellation. The risk here being that the exchange rate may have changed and you would still incur some fee. I recommend that you telephone to cancel your membership if that is what you decide to do. It maybe an international call, but at the cost of a couple of dollars it is worth the piece of mind. So I recommend you give it a try, there is plenty of info available on their site.

Ancestry has a free trial going at the moment for their English and Irish records. But when you need to cancel you are best to do it by phone, as they take a long time to cancel by email and you may get charged the full subscription fee. Lots of info there.
