Looking for parents of Mathias Masters of Wyandot Co. Ohio, abt 1833 - 1902 (d. Jay Co. Indiana)

HI! I'm looking for any information about Mathias Masters from Wyandot County Ohio.

I am unable to discover his parents or even birth place beyond "ohio" (from censuses).

Here is what I have now:

Birth: August 1833, OH
- Year approximated from numerous available censuses, but none before 1860.
- Month is from my great-grandmother's research. I'm not aware of where she found it.
- Place is also from numerous censuses

Lived in Wyandot County (at least) from 1860-1880.
- Generally believed to be Eden Township, either Sycamore, Nevada, Belle Vernon (1870 Census), Little New York...
- There is a relatively large number of "Masters" in Wyandot County and OH in general...

Moved to Jay Co. Indiana in 1887 (U.S. Indexed County Land Ownership Maps), where he died on Mar. 7, 1902. Buried in Como.

Married Magdalen (Mary, Magdalena, Magdaline, Magdalen, etc.) Hiestand in 1860 (1900 Census).
- Have not been able to find marriage record.

Children:
-Alvin Washington Masters (Nov. 22, 1860, Little New York, Wyandot Co. OH - Jan. 17, 1933, Toledo OH)
---- Married Mary Jane Stratton in 1893 and lived in Michigan for a time
-David (1860-1862, unaware of cause of death)
-Ella Z. (b. 1864, res. 1880 in Wyandot Co.)
-Rosella F. (1865-1883, unaware of cause of death)
-Michael (1869-1883, same year death as Rosella above, possibly illness)
-John Miron (1877-)

Other information:

In the 1870 Census, Mathias was listed as "Matthews Masters." He is occasionally listed as Matthias also.
The only other Mathias Masters I have found are a Matthias (2 Ts) drafted in the Civil War from Hendricks Co, Indiana, and a Mathias Master (Meister, De Meister) in Green Bay (definitely not the same, Dutch).

Mathias was illiterate, a U.S. Citizen. Magdalen was literate.

The 1880 Census is the most descriptive on origins.
Mathias' parents were from Virginia.
Magdalen's parents were from Virginia.

Most likely Magdalen's parents are James and Elizabeth Hiestand of Virginia. They are listed in the 1880 Eden Twn. part of the U.S. Census at 81 and 83 yrs respectively.

Other Hiestands of Eden Township (taken from the 1880 census):
Isiah F. Hiestand (age: 49 years, parents both from Virginia)m. Margaret.
John Hiestand (age: 52 years, parents both from Virginia) m. Charlott Ann
Sophia Hiestand (age: 25, parents both from Virginia). Servant for Simon Moses
Isiah F. (?) Hiestand (age: 23, parents both from Virginia). Farm Laborer for Simon Moses
David Hiestand (age: 25, parents from Maryland and Ohio), Farm Laborer.
----Board nephew H. Watte (age: 6, parents both from OH0)
Jacob Hiestand (age 37: parents both from Penn.), Farm Laborer.

Sycamore Township:
George Hiestand (age: 50, parents both from Penn.)
---son Isaac Hiestand (age: 21)

Land owners found in 1879 Wyandot County Atlas:
Eden Twnp-
-"W. Masters"
-"S&E Masters"
(Both found N, or NW of Nevada)
-"Glass & Hiestand"
-"M. Hiestand"
-"John Hiestand"
-"Isaiah Hiestand"
-"I. Hiestand"
(All found S, or SW of Little New York)

1850 Census, Mathias would have been between 15 and 17 years old.
No Mathias's in Wyandot County, no Hiestands in Wyandot County.
