Smartin on Family Tree Circles

Rev Francis Leggett is my 4xG Grandfather b 1745 d 1821. He married Mary Linnington in 1783 and my current research shows 6 children, 4 of which survived into adulthood. He studied at Cambridge University and throughout his life was vicar, Reverend, Curate and priest in parishes in Suffolk. I have experienced difficulty in establishing his ancestry. Unconfirmed information shows his father as Francis Leggett born approx 1720. Rev Francis was born in Rumburgh, Suffolk but I have not been able to confirm his fathers birth place/marriage or other children I have found a number of Leggett families in Ireland and wonder if my ancesters also came from Ireland. My GG Grandfather Francis Charles Leggett born in Madras, India became a Captain in 1st Waikato Militia (NZ), teacher, public servant and settler who died in 1926 in Gisborne aged 92. I am interested in contacting members of the Leggett family in NZ and any information prior to 1745. I have considerable research on the family which I am happy to share.

Capt Francis Charles Leggett b Madras 1833 d Gisborne NZ 1926 is my GG Grandfather, his father Maj Gen Joseph E.I.Army married Caroline Baker I have information on their decendants also the Baker family and Caroline Bakers father Sir Robert Baker and mother Harriett Aufrere and their ancestors. I am interested in finding Australian/New Zealand relatives and Leggett ancesters.
