( another corresponding message from bonnie bonner clark in ref to dillard franklin BONNER Pappy and Aunt Margaret said it was their Father's Father, "Doc" Bonner, who was 1/4 Indian. I haven't been able to confirm that however. Pappy said his grandfather had tribal enrollment papers, but they were lost in a fire and not replaced. According to several family trees on ancestry.com Dillard Franklin Bonner was known as "Doc", but wasn't a doctor. No back-up on that either. Dillard Franklin Bonner was Albert Julian Bonner's father and Pappy's grandfather.

According to findagrave.com Dillard Franklin Bonner is buried in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Quitman, Clarke Co., Mississippi. There's no photo of the headstone though, so I don't know what it might reveal...another correspondence from bonnie I transcribed a couple of letters from Aunt Margaret and attached them here. She said Aunt Bonnie would be 91 on 19 Jan. 2002, so she was born in 1911. She also said she, Margaret, was 79 in 2002, so she was born in 1923.

Pappy had said his grandfather was 1/4 Cherokee and had a sister that moved to the reservation in Oklahoma and Margaret confirmed part of that.
Bobby Joe Bonner was Aunt Bonnie's son and I think his death had a lasting effect on her. Bobby Joe and Uncle Sam Bonner are both buried in Whistler cemetery, Mobile County, AL. Our cousin, Patricia Ann Bonner (a.k.a. Pam Cooke now) emailed a copy of the newspaper clipping to me. Pam is Grady & Audie's daughter. Grady was your great great uncle (I think) on Aunt Mary Lou's Mother's side.)

The threads on Rootsweb that you forwarded to me indicate that Rachel Moon was Indian, probably Creek.

This still doesn't solve the mystery of Clyde's and Margaret's belief that Albert was 1/4 Indian and Clyde's belief that the tribe was Cherokee and Dillard Franklin's sister went to the reservation in Oklahoma. I think Martha Revas might have been 1/2 Indian, but I haven't been able to verify that.)
