Challis of Donyatt somerset who came to Carterton

If anyone needs help with this family, I can put you in touch with the family researcher in NZ.
Corpe. Challis. Fensham etc.... I am researching Clareville Early Settlers Cemetery and live nearby.

BAIRSTOW .... mention of Grays Road.. there is no Grays road, avenue. street in Wairarapa, only one I know off its PLIMMERTON.. Kapiti Coast... saw it on burials just now... Neich. this is also under Clareville Cemetery.

Always being asked for help for locating graves at my local cemetery... I prefer the early settlers but can help with more modern graves.. I hold the plans which are wonderful when the grave has no headstone! I also do Featherston Soldiers Cemetery.. Papawai and Greytown Cemeteries.. Papawai being Maori. I dont stop at graves I am here to help anyone needing help.. love Familytreecircles website thanks.. great help to all off us... especially when I am after a certain name, like William H Mc Lean at present, name in a book I have bought he received an Award in 1880 on his essay on Coal, the book was written by Carterton's Founder, Charles Rooking Carter, written in 1870 published in London in 1875 present to William Mc Lean in 1880 at Wanganui High School. Never a dull day for me!!! Neich.

SKEY

Am searching for a person who lives in Italy, but related to the SKEY family of South island, she did make contact and was able to help some years back, but lost her details! We have at Clareville Cemetery, William Skey, his brother Henry was in South Island. maybe a Margaret, her husband was the Skey family member (from memory!) Skey from Clareville, related to the Francis family as well off Clareville. Its a very interesting family on both brothers sides!! thanks.

Carterton Researcher. Featherston Soldiers Cemetery. etc

I offer my assistance for early settlers to Carterton District, especially the Clareville Cemetery, also known in the past as Taratahi Cemetery in Chester Road. Clareville.

If anyone has information for the Soldiers from WW1 buried at Featherston, please get in touch, have quite a bit on some names but still a long way to go. and its coming up the 100 years since The Great War, we lost too many men then.. photograph, back ground into the soldiers are so interesting...

Often I can put you in touch with others doing the same name, new relations for you all!

Headstone photography by emails...

If you wish to visit the area, please get in touch often show folk around the area, where the family had lived, worked, schooled.. and more graves as available.. no charge for my services either.. I may take some time to get it together, as had memory loss for two years, but seems its returning..

I am ex Londoner, loving the history of my area where decided to live, CLAREVILLE.. perhaps I know more than the locals!

re RUTHERFURD

The Masterton RUTHERFURD and the Carterton family of the same spelling are related, I do know descendants over in Australia. then one U married the other spelling to confuse you all.. RUTHERFORD.. When I notified my friend in OZ about another Rutherfurd, she had no idea that her one was related to the Masterton ones.. oh yes.. Charles Ferdinand Rutherfurd was the Carterton one, we cannot find when he died or where buried, but his wife, Harriet is buried at Clareville. When I let my friend know of the findings, she couldn't believe it.. does now, put them both in touch with each other...
