My search for my ancestors has been a long one. My father's mother was Clara STOERIG, b. in Cincinnati, Ohio on 11 Aug 1871. She had 1 daughter, Augusta Clara, b July 1900 and d 2 Feb 1904. I do not know the cause of her death. She had a son George B COX b 26 Dec 1901 who lived until 2 Feb 1964. He died in Valles SLP, Mexico. George COX was my father.

I am looking for his grandparents Anton STOERIG b 23 Aug 1844 in Oldenburg, Germany and his wife Christine WALTERS b 1844/45 in Elbergen, Hannover, Germany. I have learned that Anton immigrated in 1865. I do not know when Christine immigrated, but they were married on 3 May, 1870. Christine died on 25 May, 1882. I have no other information on Christine except the name of William Walters, shown as a witness on her marriage record. Perhaps he was a brother or father. I cannot find any census records for William. Anton's parents were Henry Joseph STOERIG and Elizabeth KENKEL. Elizabeth is shown in census and city directories and died around 1890. I continue to search, but cannot find further information.

I have not found any other researcher for the STOERIG line. I am so glad to find what I have found but there is so much to learn. I hope someone can help.
