In Oct 1894 George, as the manager, & Mr Brown were granted lease of some land in Te Aro for the erection of their merry-go-round and swing boats, which was advertised in Feb 1892 as: 'Brown's Grand Merry-go-round, last day Saturday in Nelson, this magnificent machine will run at night, lit up before Mr Brown goes back to Wellington and through the North Island'. In August 1908 George & Ellen were in London on a visit
